The dyed fabric created by the type dyeing unit "kata kata (katakata)" by Takeshi Matsunaga and Chie Takai is full of unique worldview in its design style while preserving traditional techniques.
As you said, when you spread the cloth, you try to create a design that creates a conversation that allows you to imagine a story, and you can feel the story in each pattern.
In the case of making things in a couple unit, I think that there are many roles or individuals are in charge of the field of expertise, but in the case of Mr. Katakata, it is different, both sides design their own, and the dyeing work is done by two people in pairs. It is a form of cooperation. I think Katakata's great attraction is that it maintains a sense of unity of one unit with an exquisite balance while having a wide range of variations because it is a two-person design.

The printing method of this product, the copper plate transfer method of the seal hand, is to transfer the pattern to the raw fabric from the transfer paper printed on Japanese paper with a pigment called Gosu (Gos).

There are many shortcomings in the plate plate by copper plate transfer, such as scapping, cutting, oozeing, color loss, and uneven color of the pattern created by hand. There are individual differences in each plate, but please consider that some of these elements must be included.
In that sense, the seal plate is not suitable for customers who prefer a perfect finish.
However, for customers with certain preferences, even the shortcomings are adorable and attractive, which can be said to be a unique thing.
